For Membership and Attendance
What’s the difference between a Gym Membership and Class Pass?
Gym Membership: Gives you unlimited access to all classes during the membership period. For example, a 3-month membership allows you to attend as many classes as you like within those 3 months.
Class Pass: Works on a per-class basis. For instance, if you purchase a 10-class pass, one class is deducted each time you attend until all 10 are used up.
Booking Policy
Gym Membership: No advance booking is required, just come for class and enjoy the lesson.
Class Pass: Advance booking is required to secure your spot and for us to track the number of classes attended.
Do I need to book classes in advance?
If your or your child is on a Gym Membership, no booking is required, just check the schedule and come for class.
However, for students on a Class Pass, advance booking is mandatory to secure a spot.
For special events such as seminars, pre-registration is required for everyone.
How to book a class?
All class bookings are managed through our online platform, Gymdesk. Once you create your profile, you’ll be able to:
Reserve spots in classes
Make secure payments
Track your membership status
Renew or upgrade your plan easily
Gymdesk is a simple, convenient way to manage your training all in one place.
What if I forget to book the class, can I still attend?
If you happen to forget to book, don’t worry! You are still welcome to come and train. Just let your coaches know when you arrive, and they will log your attendance on their end.
How long do my Class Passes last? Is there an expiration on these passes?
Each Class Pass comes with its own validity period:
10-Class Pass – valid for 3 months
30-Class Pass – valid for 6 months
50-Class Pass – valid for 12 months (1 year)
This gives you flexibility to use the classes at your own pace within the stated timeframe.
Are there trial classes available?
Yes, we offer free trial classes for new students. It’s a great way to experience the training environment before committing. Please check our timetable to see whether the class you plan to attend is a Gi or No-Gi session.
We also recommend reaching out to the head instructor of your chosen outlet via email or WhatsApp. They can advise you on a suitable class slot to ensure the best first-time experience.
Can memberships be paused?
Depending on circumstance, we generally allow short membership freezes for reasons such as injury, sickness or travel etc. Please notify us in advance so we can place your membership on hold. (Conditions may apply).
Kindly discuss this with your instructors/coaches if you need to pause your membership for any particular reason.
Are grading or belt promotions included in membership fees?
Yes, belt promotions are included as part of you or your child’s progress in our structured curriculum.
For Parents of Kids in our Gym
At what age can my child start Jiu-Jitsu classes?
Children can start as young as 5 years old in our Tots Jiu-jitsu program. We adjust training intensity and techniques to match their age and maturity level.
Do kids need prior martial arts experience?
Not at all. Most of our kids begin with zero martial arts background. Our structured program builds their skills step by step.
How do you ensure safety during training?
Safety, during training, is our top priority. All classes are closely supervised by experienced instructors who have many years of experience training Jiu-jitsu. Kids are paired by size, skill, and temperament, and we emphasize control, respect, and safe rolling practices.
What should my child wear to class?
For gi classes, a Jiu-Jitsu gi (uniform) is required. For no-gi classes, a rashguard and shorts are recommended. For first-timers or trial class, any sports outfit is fine – no jewelry or any sharp object should be on the body when training.
Can I stay and watch my child’s class?
Yes, parents are welcome to observe classes from our seating area. We encourage you to support your child, while also giving them space to build independence and confidence.
We also kindly ask that parents allow our instructors to handle all teaching and corrections. This is especially important during sparring sessions, where kids are practicing techniques with their peers. Well-meaning advice from the sidelines can sometimes be incorrect, which may confuse your child or even increase the risk of injury to them or their training partners.
From a teaching perspective, it’s also important that children learn to listen to one voice in class; the instructor’s. Too many voices can distract them, reduce their focus, and ultimately slow down their progress. For your child to develop discipline, problem-solving skills, and confidence on the mats, it’s best to let them learn directly from their teachers without outside interference.
We also ask that parents supervise their other children during class time. Please ensure that siblings and babies remain quiet and do not disrupt the training environment. If noise or distractions persist, we may politely ask parents and children to step outside until the class is finished.
By respecting these guidelines, you’re helping us maintain a safe, structured, and focused environment for all students; so your child (and everyone else’s) gets the most out of their training 🙂
What if my child is shy or hesitant at first?
This is very common. Our instructors are experienced in helping kids ease into class with patience and encouragement. Most children quickly build confidence and start enjoying themselves after a few sessions.
How does Jiu-Jitsu benefit kids outside of martial arts?
Beyond self-defense, Jiu-Jitsu builds discipline, focus, respect, resilience, and problem-solving. Many parents notice improvements in their child’s confidence, school behavior, and social interactions. Having taught many students, we have seen tots grow up to be confident, polit and respectful young adults!
How often should my child train per week?
Ideally 2–3 times a week for steady progress, but attendance is flexible depending on you and your family’s schedule. We will be there to guide your kids anytime they are ready to step on the mats!
